  Press Paws is our video gaming event, and we team it up with Table Tops, our tabletop gaming event every month on the 3rd Sunday!

  Come along to play Nintendo Switch on the big screen, or settle down with some mates and a board game or two- we've got a wide selection, and you're more than welcome to bring your own.

  Our dungeonmaster Richard often runs a beginners' Dungeons & Dragons campaign, so if you're new to D&D, come along and we'll teach you how to play.

  The pool tables at the Townie are also open for use, so if you're a learner or a shark, you can have a friendly game with your beary mates!

  Best of all, the day leads straight into our Sunday Social, so hang around afterwards to socialise with the bears!

  CALLING ALL BEAR BARDS, BREW KNIGHTS & ALE MAGES! 

  Gather your party for a legendary quest through the enchanted laneways and hidden alehouses of Olde Marrickville! 

  On Saturday 18 April, at 11:30am we set forth from the gates of Sydenham Station, to break bread and feast on the meats of Marrickville before embarking on a merry crawl through backstreet breweries and taverns. Expect strange concoctions and local lore, while the brews flow like enchanted potions. 

  Our final destination is the fabled gay bar of the realm, Miss Wolf!  There the radiant show wench Felicity Frockaccino shall perform her dazzling arts. Further imbibing encouraged, as it will make her appear more comely! Shenanigans guaranteed. 

  Dress in your finest bear tavern garb and bring your thirst and your charisma modifier. It will be an afternoon of revelry, and bear beer quaffing. 

  PLEASE RSVP to let us know you will be part of our valiant company, so we may forewarn the tavern wenches and brewmasters the number in our merry band.

  Bear Swap & Sell

  Do you have a ton of old clothes that don't fit any more? Want to share your fabulous fashions with your bear kindred?

  On Sunday 10 May Harbour City Bears is hosting an apparel swap and sell at the Inner West Pride centre in Newtown! Donate your good old apparel, and you'll be able to pick up an equal number of items from the selection donated by others! If you don’t have any to donate, you can still purchase on the day. 

  How it works 

  Donate items: Bring your clean, good-condition clothes and accessories to us before the event. For each item you donate, you’ll receive a coupon. On the day, you can use these coupons to “buy” other donated items.

  No clothes to donate? No problem! You can still come browse and purchase items at very affordable prices.

  Leftovers go to a good cause: Anything that doesn't find a new home will be donated to local charities. 

  Where and when to drop items off 

  You can drop off your items before the event and collect your coupons early.

  • Bring items to the committee any Sunday at the Townie
  • Prefer another time? Just reach out to arrange it!

  Everything will be sorted by size and ready for browsing on the big day.

  What kinds of items?

  We’re keeping it fashion-focused for our second swap event:

  • Shirts & tees
  • Pants & shorts
  • Jackets & hoodies
  • Hats & caps
  • Footwear
  • Accessories (belts, suspenders, cuffs, chains, etc.)

  Please hold off on homewares, books, or general garage sale items for now.

  What We Won’t Accept

  To keep everything fresh, fair, and wearable, we won’t accept:

  • Clothing that has not been washed (including underwear, shorts, shirts, tees, etc.)
  • Ripped, damaged, or heavily worn items

  Donation Guidelines

  • Clean and freshly washed
  • In good, wearable condition
  • Something you’d be happy to see someone else rock!

  We’re also working on having some of our Bear community partners host stalls at the event - Stay tuned—we’ll be releasing more details closer to the date!

  Good to Know

  • You don’t need to be there to “sell” your items
  • You’re donating into the pool and swapping from what others bring
  • Everyone is welcome to come along and join the fun!
